Every year, the PTO asks teachers how we can best support their classrooms. This year, teachers are dreaming of new and exciting ways to encourage our scholars!
These resources will help our teachers teach the way they want to teach. These resources will inspire our students to be engaged learners. And, these resources require extra funds, beyond our regular school budget.

The sixth annual Blooming YIES event was a huge success! Held at the Arbor Brewing Company Ypsi location, a wonderful time was had by all. Our generous donors and participants gifted enough funding to install a rock climbing wall in the gym for YIES students.
In 2021 the fifth annual Blooming YIES event was held virtually. Our teachers have extended and excelled in keeping our kids on track throughout the Pandemic. During this challenging time our community raised over $12000 to help each child bloom after year where COVID presented a season of hurdles in their education. These funds are helping to equip teachers and students as they re-engage in school in-person through various resources, materials and experiences.
In 2020 the fourth annual Blooming YIES event was another success for students! We were able to gather at the Ypsilanti Firehouse Museum just before Michigan went into lockdown due to the Pandemic. We are thankful for our community who gathered and supported our efforts to meet our fundraising goals!
The third annual Blooming YIES, hosted by the Ypsilanti International Elementary School PTO, was a great success for the PTO and the community. A catered dinner with exciting raffles and other donation opportunities raised more than $11,000 for our school!
YIES PTO used the funds raised at Blooming YIES 2019 to ENHANCE and ELEVATE the educational experience at YIES. This included alternative seating for classroom and supporting a technology fund throughout the year.
Past Blooming YIES events raised funds to renovate the library (2017) and establish an "Educational Oasis" to re-energize the outdated teacher workspace (2018). These spaces are essential to daily instruction and curriculum development. Our PTO plans to support the cost of maintaining a new color copier, laminator, supplies, and equipment.
